These elegant, slender candles by the Japanese manufacturer Daiyo are made from natural rice bran wax. With their clean, understated form and a burning time of up to nine hours, they create a warm, atmospheric glow – perfect for a long dinner table, a quiet evening meal or as an elegant accent in the home. The plant-based rice bran wax produces a relatively large, bright flame, while the candles emit very little smoke or odour.

Daiyo has been making traditional Japanese candles in Shiga Prefecture since 1914. The company combines traditional craftsmanship with exclusively natural materials. The wick is carefully constructed from washi paper, rush grass and silk fibres. The plant-based wax produces a steady flame with minimal smoke and soot.v
