Wind chimes are popular throughout Japan, where their gentle sound is said to cool you down on sultry summer days. These brass wind chimes are inspired by 'Owara Kaze no Bon', a well-known festival in Japan that takes place every year in the city of Yatsuo, Toyama. The dancers wear large straw hats that resemble the bell of the wind chime. Made using the casting technique and finished by hand, the bell has a unique, clear sound. It is like meditation to see colored paper dancing in the wind and to listen to the fine sounds of the brass bell.
In 1916, Nousaku began producing Buddhist ritual objects, tea sets and vases made of brass and bronze in Takaoka, Japan. The fourth generation foundry uses traditional sand casting techniques, tradition and the properties of the materials are at the forefront of design development, and each product is finished by hand to bring out the unique beauty of each metal.
