Japanese designer Oji Masanori has created brass mirror holders that add a unique aesthetic to any simple mirror.
They are just small, almost inconspicuous pieces, but when attached to the four corners of a mirror, they give the mirror an elegant three-dimensional effect.
The mirror holders are made by 'Futagami', a brass foundry established in 1897 in the city of Takaoka in Japan's Toyama Prefecture. Brass has long been used in various fields because it is corrosion resistant and easy to shape. It has a long history as a material for arts and crafts or Buddhist altar ware, as its texture is gentle and has an elegant luster. Brass products gradually change color over many years due to oxidation. The longer they are used, the richer and more subtle they become, blending naturally with their environment.
