The coin pendant of the 'Helios Necklace' was recreated from a hemidrachm, a small silver coin from Rhodes from 250-229 BC. The obverse shows the radiant head of Helios, the reverse a hibiscus flower. Helios was of great importance in antiquity as the god and personification of the sun. He was considered an omniscient witness and played an important role in mythology.
Berlin-based designer Elisabeth Schotte creates delicate, narrative pieces of timeless elegance. Found treasures and ancient stories inspire her modern jewelry, a series of new talismans and modern ex-voto.
