The candle holder 'Shizuku' (meaning 'Drop' in Japanese) was originally designed for a Buddhist ritual. Its elegant design features timeless proportions and is an expression of the exceptionally meticulous craftsmanship of the Japanese foundry Nousaku.
Made using traditional brass casting techniques, each handcrafted piece undergoes a special color treatment by Iromasa, a traditional dyeing workshop with a 70-year history in Takaoka. The candle holder has a compact size but a secure base due to its weight.
In 1916, Nousaku began manufacturing Buddhist ritual items, tea sets, and vases in Takaoka, Japan, using brass and bronze. The fourth-generation foundry employs traditional sand casting techniques, prioritizing tradition and the inherent qualities of the materials in design development. Each product is meticulously handcrafted to showcase the unique beauty of each metal.
