For over 200 years Sargadelos has been producing porcelain in Galicia, Spain. Founded in the early 19th century by the Marquis of Sargadelos, porcelain production was revived and renewed in the mid-20th century. At its two locations in O Castro, Sada and Sargadelos, Crevo, intricately designed tableware, figurines and jewelry are still made using the traditional porcelain formula and decorated by hand. All Sargadelos pieces are recognizable thanks to their unique colors and shapes that find their origin in Galician culture.
'Cuncha' is a classic series of sargadelos inspired by the scallop shell, which in turn is associated with the myth of the goddess Venus emerging from the sea and exudes an almost baroque yet modern elegance.
