The cast iron bird feet by Tetsutaro Nakabayashi are made of heavy, smooth cast iron and can hold books, weigh down letters or hold doors open. The cheerful design is handmade in the workshop 'Saburo Sumitani' in Takaoka, Japan, which specializes in the traditional Japanese craft of Nanbu Tekki, a special from of cast iron. Takaoka is located in the Toyama region of Japan, which is famous for cast iron, and whose manufacturing tradition dates back 400 years.
