These boldly striped, delicate, transparent glass bowls are the work of French designer Laurence Brabant and master glassmaker Alain Villchange. The pattern of the bowls is in the tradition of Venetian glassmakers, the stripes are warped in a similar way to marble paper, creating a curved wave. The shape of the tea bowls is reminiscent of ancient forms, and the glass itself is temperature-resistant and can therefore be filled with hot tea or food.
French designer Laurence Brabant creates fine glass objects in collaboration with glass artist Alain Villechange. Like an illusionist, she creates poetic glass objects cleverly inspired by translucence and the difference between the visible and the invisible, always with a spirit of discovery and play.
