The 'Pride' edition of the glass carafes by Christian Metzner is coated in a special process that creates a unique iridescent layer of color. The carafe is made of heat-resistant borosilicate glass, which means that both hot and cold drinks can be poured through one of the three spouts. Turning when picking up the jug is no longer necessary, one of the three spouts can be used immediately for pouring. The symmetry of the design also make the carafe usable as a vase, the coating adds a poetic touch to this special every-day-object. Made of heat-resistant borosilicate glass by skilled craftmen, the spouts are pulled out of the material by hand and thus retain a visible handcrafted character.
Christian Metzner, who studied architecture and product design, founded his own label in 2006. Always in search of perfect proportions and precision craftsmanship, his work oscillates between technical-looking laboratory aesthetics and classic elegance.
