Sargadelos has been manufacturing porcelain in Galicia, Spain for over 200 years. Founded in the early 19th century by the Marquis of Sargadelos, porcelain production was revived and renewed in the mid-20th century. At its two locations in O Castro, Sada and Sargadelos, Crevo, elaborately designed crockery, figurines and jewelry are still made with the traditional porcelain formula and decorated by hand. All Sargadelos pieces are recognizable thanks to their unique colors and shapes, which have their origins in Galician culture. The 'Fauna' collection was created by illustrator and designer Carlos Silvar. He has been a member of the Galician Society for Natural History since his youth, and his love for nature and animals can be felt in each of his designs.
