The cast iron trivet by Tadahiro Baba speaks for itself - it looks as if you had captured the moment in which a drop hits the ground. The trivet is handmade in the workshop 'Saburo Sumitani' in Takaoka, Japan and is a design by the Japanese Designer Tadahiro Baba. Born in Nagano in 1930, his designs are closely linked to the traditional Japanese craft of Nambu Tekki (cast iron), but still have a distinctive and modern sense of humor. Takaoka is located in the Toyama region of Japan, which is famous for cast iron and whose manufacturing tradition looks back on 400 years of history. The trivet is coated with a layer of varnish containing urushiol and is therefore rustproof.
