The 'Sea Matryoshka' is an beautiful object by the Finnish artist duo Aamu Song and Johan Olin also known as 'Company'. A few years ago, Aamu Song and Johan Olin embarked on one of their journeys to explore the secrets of the old matryoshka craft. During each factory visit, the two took time to characterize the traditional manufacturing steps, then developed new products based on those traditions. Their journey, which took them to the Urals, Siberia and the Caucasus, resulted in collaborations with six traditional manufactories and a collection of objects that bear Johan and Aamu's signature.
