The Buñica coffee pot is a bold, distinctive piece in the characteristic colors of Sargadelos, the Galician porcelain manufacturer. The decoration of the pot is hand-applied by airbrushing the paint over stencils. This creates that special impression that the color areas are stamped or printed, and at the same time it creates a vivid color application with particularly strong colors.
Sargadelos has been making porcelain in Galicia, Spain for over 200 years. Founded in the early 19th century by the Marquis of Sargadelos, porcelain production was revived and renewed in the mid-20th century. Today, Sargadelos pieces are recognizable thanks to their unique colors and shapes, which find their origin in Galician culture, and are designs by Galician artists such as Luis Seoane and Isaac Diaz Pardo. In the manufactory in the hills of Crevo, elaborately designed tableware, figurines and jewelry are still made with the traditional porcelain formula and decorated by hand.
